The Park View Elementary Approach to STEM Education

Park View Elementary School was founded as a STEM school and is dedicated to providing a robust STEM education for our students. In 2019, Park View first received STEM Designation by the Tennessee STEM Innovation Network (TSIN) after a self study, application, and site visit. PVES was re-designated as a TSIN STEM School in 2025.

We integrate STEM into our curriculum through a variety of programs and initiatives, including:

  • Project-Based Learning (PBL): Two school-wide themed PBLs, plus at least four grade-level PBLs per year
  • Monthly STEM Lessons: Each grade level participates in monthly STEM lessons throughout the school year
  • Clubs: Gardening Club, STEM Club, baking class, scrapbooking, Running Club, PVE Morning Show Crew, and the Tech Crew
  • STEM Showcases: Two nights dedicated to student presentations of STEM learning and personal school benchmark data
  • Yearly STEM Night and Bi-Monthly STEM Challenges: Providing opportunities for students to engage with STEM concepts in interactive ways
  • District STEM Participation: PVE actively participates in 4H education, math meets, themed school-system science project competitions, STEM in the Gym Day, and will participate in the STEM Competition.

These programs go beyond academic growth, helping students develop essential skills for future success.
