- Project-Based Learning (PBL): Two school-wide themed PBLs, plus at least four grade-level PBLs per year
- Monthly STEM Lessons: Each grade level participates in monthly STEM lessons throughout the school year
- Clubs: Gardening Club, STEM Club, baking class, scrapbooking, Running Club, PVE Morning Show Crew, and the Tech Crew
- STEM Showcases: Two nights dedicated to student presentations of STEM learning and personal school benchmark data
- Yearly STEM Night and Bi-Monthly STEM Challenges: Providing opportunities for students to engage with STEM concepts in interactive ways
- District STEM Participation: PVE actively participates in 4H education, math meets, themed school-system science project competitions, STEM in the Gym Day, and will participate in the STEM Competition.
The Park View Elementary Commitment to STEM Education
STEM education is fully integrated into the daily experience of Park View Elementary students. PVES also features a STEM class as part of the "specials" rotation with engaging work. PVES students also access the outdoor classroom for STEM learning.STEM Class Explorations
PVES offers a STEM class as part of the specials rotation. Students engage in challenges that encourage their curiosity, creative problem-solving abilities, teamwork, observation, persistence, scientific and engineering literacies, math and analytical thinking, organization and time-management skills, and communication skills. The STEM class is equipped and stocked with a wide range of STEM learning materials, supplies, and equipment to support student learning. Our Outdoor Classroom
PVES teachers conduct classes in an outdoor space. Students learn about plant care, environmental science, planning and organizational skills, teamwork, and this work inspires curiosity about the natural world. Outdoor education also promotes social-emotional development. The Gardening Club students also care for plants and resources in the outdoor classroom. The PVES Outdoor Classroom was established with grant funds and community donations.
