What does a School Counselor do?

All School Counselors follow state standards and guidelines, the same as classroom teachers.  School Counselor activities fall under three domains as outlined by the American School Counselor Association:  Academic Achievement, Social and Emotional Development, and Career Development.

My activities at Park View include classroom lessons, individual and small group instruction, student leader of the month, ADD/ADHD evaluations, behavior modification, conflict resolution, emotion regulation, friendship and antibullying, and leadership activities to name a few.  I am also the BETA Club sponsor. 

I am a certified Olweus Bullying Prevention Trainer and have worked with Ocoee Middle School and Lake Forest Middle School.
